Add Portfolios and Assign Portfolio Managers
Introduction
Portfolio is a group of projects and programs that operates under the portfolio umbrella. The most common types are:
- IT/ Technology Portfolio
- Non-IT/ Non-Technology Portfolio
If the organization operates in multiple countries you can utilize the portfolio functionality by defining a portfolio for each country. By defining a user as the portfolio manager, he/she will only see the projects under his/her portfolio/country. Defining the portfolio in this case has a data security aspect.
The Portfolio Manager of a country like Bahrain can only see Bahrain’s projects under his portfolio.
Add/Edit/Delete Portfolios – Optional
Steps:
- Click on Portfolio.
- Click on (+) Button.
- Type your portfolio name. e.g. IT Portfolio.
- Add your portfolio managers e.g. Any user. If the users are not defined yet you will not be able to add portfolio managers. This step is (optional).
- In this table, you will see the portfolio manager you defined in step 4, and you are able to delete your entries.
- Click add.
- If you want to Edit or Delete, click on marked icons. Tip: If the delete icon is disabled that means you have a project in your projects list linked to it.
