Work Breakdown Structure - WBS
Introduction:
Work Breakdown Structure is a commonly used tool to define the list of deliverables that will be delivered by each stage of the project.
The project managers will use functional decomposition to split the project deliverables into manageable work packages or sub-deliverables.
Steps:
- Open the Work Breakdown Structure tab.
- Notice the Phase/Stage level of the project is represented from the methodology associated to this project.
- Notice the processes under this stage/phase as defined in the methodology by PMO.
- Each process could contain some outputs, in this case they will be presented under the process as you can see.
- Use the Expand All and Collapse All to expand/collapse the whole hierarchy.
- You can delete any of the default deliverables provided by the project methodology.
- You can use the Add action (+) to add your own deliverables.
- Name your newly added deliverables.
- You can further decompose your deliverables into smaller ones.
- Save your changes to the WBS.
- You can Reset WBS to restore it to its original state as defined in the project methodology.
